Let’s Do Coffee!
Like so many people, I love my coffee! Despite the countless reports of how bad coffee can be for your health, more and more studies are proving that coffee, in moderation, has many health benefits!
Here is a list of some of the benefits you can enjoy along with your morning cup of joe:
1. Coffee can boost your mood and your IQ. Caffeine blocks an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain, which stimulates the brain and improves both mood and brain function.
2. Coffee can help you burn fat and improve physical performance by raising your metabolic rate and stimulating your central nervous system.
3. Coffee can lower your risk of Type II Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s. According to studies people who drink several cups per day are the least likely to become diabetic, have up to a 60% lower risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia, and a 32-60% lower risk of Parkinson’s.
4. Coffee is chock full of antioxidants and nutrients. A cup of coffee has 6% of your daily Vitamin B5, 11% of Vitamin B2, 2% of Niacin and Thiamine, and 3% of Potassium and Manganese. If you drink several cups of coffee per day this can quickly add up. Coffee also contains many antioxidants and is the biggest source of antioxidants in the western diet, outranking both fruits and vegetables combined!
For best results: remember moderation, leave out sugar, fatty creamers, and sweeteners.
